As part of an engaging educational field trip, the inquisitive students of Grades 7 and 8 from Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan (Tuni CBSE) visited a local fitness and health centre (JK GYM) to learn the science behind physical wellness. The vibrant atmosphere filled the young learners with immense enthusiasm and curiosity as they toured the facility. The session was led by expert fitness trainer G. Trinadh, who captivated the students with a detailed walkthrough of the modern equipment, explaining how specific tools—ranging from 1 kg to 35 kg dumbbells, bicep machines, wrist improvement tools and Lat pulleys—target distinct muscle groups for overall strength and conditioning.
He illustrated about Shoulder Multi-Machine which targets both front and rear deltoids for complete shoulder development.
Chest Butterfly (Pec Deck) Machine that specifically targets and tones chest muscles.
V-Shape (Lat Pull-Down) Machine which enhances upper back posture and develops a strong, shaped back.
Mr. Trinadh demonstrated how different fitness stations serve specific functional goals, guiding the eager students through both lower-body and cardiovascular equipment. He explained how machines like the sip machine and leg extensions focus on thigh development and lower-body toning, while the double twister targets the core and waistline. Moving to the cardio section, he highlighted how stationary cycles and treadmills—utilizing speed and incline walking—enhance heart health, boost stamina, and accelerate calorie burn for weight management.
Beyond equipment demonstrations, the session provided valuable life lessons on holistic health and disease prevention. He shared critical insights on how tailored exercise routines help manage conditions like PCOS/PCOD in women. He also dispelled common fitness myths, reassuring the students that quitting workouts does not automatically cause weight gain, as body weight is primarily driven by caloric balance rather than simply pausing exercise. The trip concluded on an exceptionally inspired and energetic note, leaving the students with a deeper appreciation for an active lifestyle.
