NCC Group Commander Rithin Mohan Agarwal Calls Upon Students to Pursue Sporting Excellence
The three-day CBSE South Zone–1 Handball Championship, hosted by Sri Prakash Educational Institutions, concluded successfully on Monday. More than 2,500 student athletes from over 100 schools across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu participated in the championship in various age categories.
Rithin Mohan Agarwal, NCC Group Commander, Kakinada, who attended the valedictory ceremony as the Chief Guest, said that sports play an integral role in the holistic development of students. He observed that participation in sports promotes discipline, physical fitness, mental well-being, confidence and leadership qualities, while complementing academic education.
Mr. Agarwal encouraged students to pursue their chosen fields with commitment, dedication and perseverance. He said that sporting talent, when developed through sustained effort and discipline, can provide significant opportunities and pave the way for a bright future. He also highlighted the availability of sports-related reservation benefits and the opportunities they offer for employment in Central and State Government services. He congratulated the teams and athletes who qualified for the National-level competitions.
Smt. Anupama Agarwal, Guest of Honour, appreciated the performances of the participating athletes and expressed particular satisfaction at the achievements of the girl students. She observed that the participation and success of girls alongside boys reflected the growing prominence of women in sports. She conveyed her best wishes to all the athletes for continued success in their future sporting careers.
Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash, Joint Secretary, Sri Prakash Educational Institutions, said that the championship provided a competitive platform for young athletes to demonstrate their skills, discipline and sportsmanship. He congratulated the winners and all those who qualified for the National-level competitions.
He stated that participation in sports alongside education contributes substantially to students' physical fitness, mental strength and overall development. He advised the participants to accept both victory and defeat with equal composure and to regard every competition as an opportunity for learning, improvement and personal growth.
The first-place teams in the respective categories qualified for the National-level competitions. The National-level Handball Championship for girls will be held from October 1 to 5 at Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, while the boys' championship will be held from October 9 to 14 at Kurukshetra, Haryana.
At the valedictory ceremony, the dignitaries presented medals and mementoes to the winners and runners-up in the respective categories.
The programme was attended by Sri Ch.V.K. Narasimha Rao, Secretary and Correspondent, Sri Prakash Educational Institutions; Smt. Ch. Sameera, Director; Sri Swamy, CBSE Observer; Sri M.V.V.S. Murthy, Senior Principal; and Sri K. Ravi, Principal, besides coaches, managers, teachers and participating athletes from various regions.
