L.O:- To know how drinking water is supplied to our town  Tuni.

As part of field trip we have taken children to the main water pump house at Katrallu, Tuni. There the children observed how water is purified through pipes and sent to storage tanks. Then how they supply regularly to all the houses was also keenly observed. Every day the municipality supplies 25 lakh liters of water in the morning and 25 lakh of liters of water in the evening to Tuni town.

They follow three steps:

1..Purification: Light particles of dirt floating on the water are removed and chlorine gas is sent in to the water for the removal of bacteria. The bacteria in the water gets killed as it is exposed to sunrays by the hole at the top of the tank.

2.Preservation: Water is collected from reservoir through canals and rivers. This water is generally unclean.

3.Supply: Water is supplied to houses, schools, hospitals, offices and factories through pipelines.
